Injury Matters is launching the three-month Stay On Your Feet® Improve Your Health campaign across Western Australia from September-November 2024. The Improve Your Health campaign encourages older adults to check their medicines, keep a healthy mind, and fuel their bodies to prevent falls and support healthy ageing.
Community events
To kick off the campaign, the Stay On Your Feet® team are taking a trip to Lake Grace to talk about the importance of eating a nutritious diet, keeping an healthy mind and managing medications to prevent falls and promote healthy ageing. This workshop will include presentations from the local Pharmacist, a Nutritionist from Foodbank as well as activities to keep a healthy mind.
Next, Stay On Your Feet® will be cooking up a storm with Foodbank and the Town of Mosman Park community with a hands on cooking class delivered by a Nutritionist. The best part will be sitting down to enjoy the fresh and healthy meal whilst learning about the importance of nutrition to prevent falls and keep a healthy mind.

Finally, who doesn’t love a game of Bingo? Especially when it combines strength and balance exercises and information on how to Improve Your Health and prevent falls. Sounds good to us, and we can’t wait to play “Bingosize” with the City of Vincent community.
Don’t forget you can always book a free Stay On Your Feet® community presentation with one of our Peer Educators too!
Working with older adults living in the community?
Health professionals can expect a series of Improve Your Health themed training opportunities on offer throughout the campaign.
What are other organisations doing?
It’s not just Injury Matters running falls prevention activities this campaign. Our successful Improve Your Health grant recipients and friends at the South West WA Country Health Service, Shire of Brookton, Shire of Tammin and Karratha Central Health Care will also be running some exciting Improve Your Health grant activities in the community over the next three months.
