Injury Matters continued to build the capacity of the injury prevention sector in Western Australia (WA) in 2025-26 with a variety of workforce engagement activities.
Funded by the Department of Health WA, Injury Matters provided Know Injury training events and presentations, online webinars, an eLearning module, resources, networking opportunities, and support to Public Health Planning for injury prevention professionals across WA. 2025-26 Achievements

Delivered 23 training events to 794 participants, with 96% of training participants reporting increased knowledge following the training.

Engaged with 46 Local Governments and contributed to 9 Public Health Plans across WA, advocating for injury prevention at local level.

Hosted the Injury Prevention Networking Breakfast, bringing together researchers, policy makers, and practitioners from over 20 organisations.

Updated seventeen Know Injury fact sheets with current data and evidence-based practices.

International recognition of the Know program, with the acceptance of a poster at the World Conference on Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion 2026.
What to keep an eye out for in 2026-27
Injury Matters has some exciting Know Injury activities already in the works for 2026-27:
- Planning for the next Injury Prevention Summit.
- Continued delivery of in-person and webinar training events, tailored to the needs of the injury prevention sector.
- Ongoing engagement with the sector and Local Governments in WA.
- Travel to the Southwest, Wheatbelt, Goldfields, Kimberley, and Pilbara regions.
- Delivery of a Know Injury poster presentation at the World Conference on Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion 2026.
