Throughout September to November 2025, Injury Matters proudly delivered the Stay On Your Feet® program Move Your Body campaign. Move Your Body raises awareness among older Western Australians on how to prevent falls through improving balance, mobility, and strength.
What did we get up to
Mass Media Reach
We launched the new Move Improve Remove “A little every day, goes a long way in preventing a fall” mass media campaign on 1st September. Our refreshed creative assets hit TV screens across WA, featured in newspapers, social media and appeared in medical clinic waiting rooms.

Community Events
We connected with many older Western Australians in the community through Move Your Body events. Events included falls prevention education, exercise demonstrations, strength and balance assessments, allied health and fitness professional presentations and helped to connect older adults to local health services. Events included:
- Strong Bones for Falls Prevention at South Lake Ottey Centre brought together experts to discuss bone health and exercise.
- Move Your Body & Get Up Off the Floor at Riverton Leisureplex showcased how to get up from the floor safely.
- Move Your Body & Flourish event with COTA WA highlighted the Strength for Life program and local healthy ageing services within the City of Bayswater.

Community Grants
Across Western Australia, our successful grant recipients were also busy with their Move Your Body activities:
- Astley Care delivering strength and balance exercise classes adapted from the OTAGO program.
- Shire of Toodyay combined Bocce with body movement classes.
- Shire of Narrogin introduced Ballroom Fit for fun and fitness.
- Cunderdin CRC offered exercise classes and nutrition workshops.
Workforce development
Health, community and fitness professionals working with older adults participated in webinars and workshops on evidence-based programs, such as OTAGO and LiFE.
- The Mobility in Falls Prevention Webinar explored functional mobility factors, challenges, best practice points and the life course approach to falls prevention.
- The Falls Forum was also a highlight of the campaign, where a Western Australian lens was applied to the national guidelines, highlighting initiatives and practical strategies to reduce falls and support healthy ageing in our communities.
- Ageing in WA- Thriving Physically, Mentally and Culturally networking event saw early career researchers come together to explore key topics in falls prevention, consumer and caregiver involvement and healthy ageing.
We’ll be back in March 2026 with the Improve Your Health Campaign!
