Road Trauma Research: Be a Study Participant

The Centre for Accident Research and Road Safety – Queensland at Queensland University of Technology, currently have two research studies which are seeking participants with lived experience of road trauma.

“The Psychosocial Impacts of Road Crash Related Serious Injuries for Victims’ Families and Friends” is a study with the objective of bringing to light what happens for the families, friends, and others, when someone that is important to them is seriously injured in a road crash. PhD Student Glenn Mullins is seeking people with this particular lived experience to share a one-hour audio recorded interview.

To recognise your contribution should you choose to participate, the research team is offering a one-off $100 GiftPay e-voucher. Questions can be directed to Glenn via email: [email protected].

“Understanding the lived experiences of individuals responsible for unintentional road trauma” is a study seeking to understand the lived experience of drivers and riders responsible for motor-vehicle collisions which have resulted in unintentional trauma. The purpose of this research is to gain a rich and deeper understanding of what life has been like for these individuals since the event.

Participation involves two semi-structured interviews to be conducted one year apart. Participants will receive a $50 e-voucher for each interview they participate in ($100 in total). If you are aged 18 years and over, reside in Australia, and were the driver or rider responsible for a motor-vehicle collision which resulted in unintentional death, and/or serious injury, of another person/s, and are interested in being considered for participation in this study, please contact one of the researchers below:
