Australasian College of Road Safety Webinar

Injury Matters teamed up with Road Trauma Support Services Victoria to deliver a webinar hosted by the Australasian College of Road Safety. Over 130 individuals across Australia registered to participate in the webinar which addressed the psychosocial impacts of road incidents, its complexities and the trajectories people’s lives can take.

Four speakers shared their insights and experience in working in the post-crash space,  including our own Christine Smith who spoke to the wide range of psychosocial impacts of road trauma including the legal, investigations, media, financial, medical and community, and how these systems should be considered when applying a safe system approach to reducing harm on the roads.

Other aspects of the webinar included the trajectories of recovery, the long term impacts, and robust discussion challenging road safety professionals to consider the ‘IF’ when considering the safe system and interventions.
