Biotech to Yarning: 2023 Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion Award Winners

Injury Matters is pleased to announce the winners of the 2023 Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion Awards. The biannual awards ceremony recognises individuals, organisations and community groups who have made significant contributions towards injury prevention and safety promotion in Western Australia.

This year’s awards ceremony was held on May 11th, 2023, at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre. The event brought together industry leaders, safety advocates, and government representatives to celebrate the achievements of the award winners and to recognise the importance of injury prevention and safety promotion.

Injury Matters Acting Chief Executive, Rachel Meade, congratulated the winners and emphasised the importance of injury prevention and safety promotion.

“Injury prevention and safety promotion are critical components of public health. The work of our award winners highlights the importance of collaborative efforts in reducing the incidence and impact of injuries in Western Australia,” Ms Meade said.

The winners of the 2023 Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion Awards included:

  • St John WA,
  • Umbrella Multicultural Community Care Services,
  • Holyoake WA,
  • Edith Cowan University,
  • City of Armadale,
  • The Alcohol and Drug Foundation,
  • Department of Fire and Emergency Services, and
  • Paraplegic Benefit Fund Australia.
