2025 Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion Awards

On Thursday June 12, Injury Matters hosted the biennial Injury Prevention & Safety Promotion Awards on the banks of the Derbal Yerrigan, at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.

This biennial event is a vital opportunity to celebrate the contributions and achievements provided by the sector working to enable the WA community to prevent and recover from injury.  

On this beautiful morning, Injury Matters were joined by a spectacular line-up of special guest speakers, including Kendall Whyte OAM, Founder and CEO of the Blue Tree Project, and Nyungar Elder, Freda Ogilvie.

Injury Matters were delighted to host over 100 guests, including key stakeholders, partners, judging panel members and finalists for this celebratory breakfast. 

The 2025 Injury Prevention & Safety Promotion Award Categories included: 

  • Outstanding Achievement in Injury Prevention or Recovery within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities 
  • Outstanding Achievement by a Local Government in Injury Prevention or Recovery 
  • Outstanding Achievement in Influencing Injury Policy or Research 
  • Excellence in Injury Recovery 
  • Excellence in Injury Prevention or Safety Promotion 

The high calibre and wide variety of nominations received this year are truly a testament to the hard work that is being conducted across Western Australia to prevent injury and support people on their journey to recovery.  

Whether it is breakthroughs in academic research, the innovative use of technology, individualised recovery support initiatives or grassroots to statewide prevention projects, it is a pleasure for Injury Matters to be able to acknowledge and celebrate the exceptional contributions made by each finalist.
