Consultations open for Australian Falls Prevention Guidelines

Consultations are now open for the draft Recommendations and Good Practice Points from the Australian Falls Prevention Guidelines.

Developed for the Australian Commission on Quality and Safety in Health Care, the draft Guidelines provide a series of falls prevention Recommendations and Good Practice Points across aged care, community, and hospital settings.

The consultation provides a unique opportunity for professionals working with older adults in falls prevention to contribute their knowledge, experience, and insight to the update of these guidelines and the future of falls prevention care in Australia.

The updated and revised Recommendations have been provided based on evidence from intervention trials with falls as an outcome. The Good Practice Points have been based on expert opinion and studies with falls risk factors as an outcome.

Feedback must be provided to the Australian & New Zealand Falls Prevention Society via [email protected] by COB Sunday 25 February 2024.
