Great Southern Population Health Services

The Great Southern Population Health Directorate combines the services of Public Health along with a range of Nursing, Allied Health and Aboriginal Health services which are based in the community.

The aim of Population Health is to prevent disease and injury, as well as maintain and improve the health status through prevention, promotion and intervention strategies and programs that empower the individual and community to make choices which lead to a better health outcome.

The Public Health team focuses on health promotion and disease control activities which cover the whole of the Great Southern Region. There are three broad functions of the public health team which include:

• Support and assist specific communities to plan, implement and evaluate health advancement programs

• Plan, implement and evaluate programs across the whole region or for specific sub groups within the Great Southern.

• Support the delivery of statewide public health programs and campaigns across the Great Southern.

We strive to be culturally sensitive as we represent the Western Australian community in our imagery.
