National Burns Awareness Month

Did you know there is a significantly increased risk of burns during winter?

Held in June each year, National Burns Awareness Month aims to drive greater awareness amongst the Australian community of burns prevention and the correct first aid treatment for burns.

As part of the campaign, Kidsafe Australia and the Australian & New Zealand Burns Association have developed a Community Awareness Kit to provide your organisation with resources and media support to engage in awareness-raising activities.

The Know Injury burns toolkit can also support Local Governments, community organisations and regional services to engage in burns prevention activities. Or to learn about the incidence of burns in WA access the Know Injury burns factsheet.

Throughout June, Injury Matters encourages you to raise awareness of the importance of burns prevention so we can create a safer WA.

We strive to be culturally sensitive as we represent the Western Australian community in our imagery.
