Innovating Injury Prevention: A Design Thinking Workshop

Innovation is the invention and implementation of transformational ideas that create value for organisations, communities, and society. In the health and injury prevention context, innovation is critical to improving population health outcomes and supporting the development of policies and programs.
Human-Centred Design provides a proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving by placing people and their needs at the heart of solution development.
Join Injury Matters on 25 June 2026 from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm for the “Innovating Injury Prevention: A Design Thinking Workshop”. This workshop will guide you through the 5 stages of the Human Centred Design Thinking Model using a challenge specific to your sector.
Challenge Statement Submission
Please submit a challenge statement to [email protected] by Thursday, 11 June. Injury Matters is available to support you in developing your statement. The challenge statement should be specific to your sector (for example, drowning prevention).
For example, “How might we… combine existing knowledge with emerging technologies to improve injury outcomes in WA?”
Who is this suitable for?
This workshop is suitable for injury prevention and safety promotion practitioners, health promotion officers, and local government workers (community safety, environmental health, community development and community engagement).
**We recommend attending this workshop with a colleague; this way, you can work on a challenge statement that directly relates to your organisation.
