As the only direct source of contact with the ground, our feet and footwear play an important role in posture, balance, stability and mobility. Foot pain, reduced ankle movement, toe weakness, toe deformities and inappropriate footwear can all increase the risk of falls in older adults. Appropriate footwear and good foot health can support mobility, improve balance and help reduce the risk of falls and falls-related injuries.
