The ‘Implementing the Lifestyle Integrated Functional Exercise (LIFE) Program to help prevent falls‘ training is a half-day workshop for health professionals to reduce the risk of falls and improve capacity for functional everyday activity, based on the LiFE program principles. This interactive workshop explores the knowledge and skills required for allied health professionals to effectively implement balance and strength exercises for older adults in their everyday lives. Each workshop includes the following content:

  • Background and impact of falls
  • LiFE Principles of Balance Training
  • Embedding exercises into daily routines
  • Habit formation and retention
  • Screening and assessment tools
  • Safety considerations
  • LiFE program modifications and adaptations
  • Stay On Your Feet® program

This training is suitable for allied health professionals interested in exercise and older adults, including Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Exercise Physiologists, and Registered Nurses.

This workshop will be delivered by a Registered Physiotherapist and will include a morning tea break.
