School Drug Education and Road Aware – SDERA



SDERA is a government funded organisation that helps to keep young people safe, by: – targeting teachers, parents, children and young people in early childhood, school and community settings – focusing on the prevention of harms related to road trauma, and alcohol and other drug use. – developing and providing curriculum and resource material, professional learning, coordination of service provision, a state-wide consultancy service – fostering best practice in resilience, drug and road safety education.

SDERA receives funding from the Road Safety Council (Road Trauma Trust Account) and the Drug and Alcohol Office and in part by the Australian Government, and is under the governance of a Board that is represented by the two funding authorities and three school systems and sectors (ie Road Safety Council, Drug and Alcohol Office, Catholic Education Office of WA, Association of Independent Schools of WA and WA Department of Education).
