SUMMARY:Veer off vaping - advocating for e-cigarette regulation in WA webinar
DESCRIPTION:E-cigarettes have been readily available globally since 2006. Nicotine is an extremely toxic substance\, with liquid nicotine used in e-cigarettes posing a serious risk for young children in our society. If the popularity and access to e-cigarettes were to increase in Western Australia without legislative intervention and regulation\, injuries from e-cigarettes would undoubtedly increase in both occurrence and severity. To talk through the use of e-cigarettes\, its link to injury\, and the advocacy strategies that are currently underway in WA\, we will hear from the Make Smoking History team at Cancer Council WA in this one-hour online webinar hosted by Injury Matters. \nThis session aims to: \n\nIncrease knowledge of the link between vaping and injury\nIncrease awareness of current regulations on e-cigarettes in WA\nIncrease confidence in advocating for harm reduction with e-cigarette use in young people\n\nWho should attend? \nThis webinar is aimed at public health advocates\, health promotion professionals\, representatives from schools\, Not-for-profit or Local Government bodies\, metro health services and health professionals working in youth services\, organisations or programs. \nRegister here
