SUMMARY:Falls Prevention and Neurological Conditions
DESCRIPTION:Neurological conditions have been recognised as a risk factor for falls. Common conditions seen to increase the risk of a fall include stroke and Parkinson’s disease. There are many ways in which physiological factors accompanying these conditions can increase this risk of falls. Due to the negative impact associated with falling\, it is important for practitioners working with patients diagnosed with a neurological condition to recognise this increased risk for falls and be able to assess and implement appropriate interventions. \nJoin us at our upcoming webinar ‘Falls Prevention and Neurological Conditions’\, presented by Anita Rattray\, Physiotherapist and Lisa Barry\, Occupational Therapist at Parkinson’s Clinic\, Osborne Park Hospital. The webinar will provide participants with knowledge of common neurological conditions which increase falls risk as well as strategies for reducing falls risk. \nThis webinar aims to: \n\nIncrease knowledge and understanding of common neurological conditions and their impact on falls risk.\nIncrease knowledge of strategies for preventing falls in people with neurological conditions.\nIncrease understanding of referral pathways for relevant services.\nIncrease knowledge of available resources to support clinical practice.\n\nRegister Here
