Join us for this discussion starter to hear from leaders in Australian Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion reflecting on the current challenges\, areas for future developments\, and the skills that the workforce will need to be swift in addressing threats and responsive to opportunities. \nThe invited speakers who will provide their perspectives on the future are: \n\nDr. Denise Sullivan\, Director of Chronic Disease Prevention at the Department of Health WA:  Leads the development of state chronic disease and injury prevention policy and planning frameworks and contributes to the shaping of the national preventive health policy agenda.\nAssociate Professor Debbie Scott\, AIPN President: Strategic Lead of The National Addiction and Mental Health Surveillance Unit at Turning Point. Debbie’s research interests focus on the use of surveillance systems and data to improve the understanding of and interventions for harms associated with alcohol and drugs – particularly those associated with intentional injury (suicide and self-harm\, family violence\, child maltreatment).\nProfessor Stuart Newstead\, Professor and Director of Monash University Accident Research Centre: leads the Centre’s Injury Analysis and Data Team.
