DESCRIPTION:This free bite-sized webinar from the Local Government Community Safety Network will provide a local focus on violence prevention following the launch of the Our Watch Local Government violence prevention toolkit. \nSpeakers\n\nKatie Moynan works in the role of Specialist Practice Development & Research at Preventing Violence\nTogether\, a collaboration co-chaired by the Centre for Women’s Safety and Stopping Family Violence\,\ntwo established\, state-wide organisations with a shared purpose of supporting women and children\nexperiencing family\, domestic and sexual violence\, to be safe and free from violence. Having professionally\nsupported victim survivors of family\, domestic and sexual violence for many years\, Katie is passionate\nabout shifting the culture that permits violence to occur in the first place.\nCr Chontelle Stone is a passionate advocate for community participation\, engagement and connectivity.\nIn 2017\, Chontelle was elected to the City of Cockburn where she has been contributing to creating an\nenvironment of social inclusion. As President of the Australian Local Government Women’s Association\nWA Branch Chontelle developed the Stand Up program aimed at increasing female representation on\nLocal Government Councils.\n\nThere will be opportunity to share any initiatives your LG are doing to prevent violence.
